Chelsea DesLauriers
Chelsea DesLauriers began her dance training in Vancouver, Canada at the age of three. In 2017 she graduated from Simon Fraser University with Distinction, receiving a BFA in contemporary dance and pre-requisites for a Masters in physiotherapy. She has performed repertoire by Crystal Pite & Kidd Pivot, Wen Wei Wang, Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar, Israeli choreographers Oded Graf & Yossi Berg, William Forsythe and Mats Ek to name a few.
Since 2018, Chelsea has worked with Vancouver-based contemporary dance company Vision Impure, under the direction of Noam Gagnon. In the summer of 2018, she was also invited to perform with Rambert Dance Company in numerous installation performances. Currently, she is a part of an International Dance Collective in New Zealand. The Collective's co-choreographed full-length work Utopia #9 sold out its season during its world premiere at Tempo Dance Festival and was accepted into Wellington Fringe Festival where it was performed in 2020.
Chelsea has had the privilege of teaching at Central Dance Academy since 2014, working with the junior ballet division and running the contemporary program. She is looking forward to having the chance to share her passion for movement with the K&S dancers.
