Barbara Tutt

A native of beautiful Burnaby, B.C., Barbara was trained in jazz, tap, musical theatre and acro by one of the Vancouver’s first dance studio owners, Betty McHardy, a former New York Rockette and dancer at the Lido in Las Vegas.

With over 30 years of teaching experience, Barbara has trained thousands of enthusiasts to dance and perform, from preschoolers to adult and novice to successful career professionals. “I really love my job!”

Barbara began her professional dance career in 1981 with the Vancouver-based group “Gypsy, a Touch of Vegas” dancers. Their vivacious, high energy company entertained for numerous exclusive clubs and hotels throughout the B.C. and the Pacific Northwest. During her extensive dance, modeling and singing career, Barbara has been featured in nine TV commercials and was honoured to have had the opportunity to sing and dance in two entertainment tours for the Canadian Armed Forces in Germany, Israel, Cyprus and Labrador and the Northwest Territories.

Most recently she has been seen tapping in Vancouver’s newest, smoking hot and creatively brilliant shows produced by Peggy Giesbrecht and Jennifer Bishop called “Tap Stew, Buffet Style”, featuring tap icon Jim Hibbard.

From the Variety, the Children’s Charity Telethon, to old “Vaudeville Revisited”, from dance recital to showgirl, Barbara can still be seen at various events and venues either with our without a “cause”, dancing from the heart, with love and passion for the art of dance.
